The Care Train organiser guide
This guide walks you through listing, promoting and running a healthcare event on Care Train — from first draft to a smooth event day.
1. Before you list
Have a few basics ready: your event title, a clear description of what attendees will learn, the date and time, the venue or webinar link, your capacity, and your pricing. If you're a business, have your ABN handy so we can generate compliant tax invoices for paid bookings.
Write for the person deciding whether to attend. Lead with the outcome, name who it's for, and be specific about format and duration.
2. Creating your listing
Go to List an event and complete the form. Choose a category so the right people find you, set the format (in-person or online), and add your venue or platform. Add a More info link if you have a dedicated page.
3. Setting up tickets
You can offer free registration or paid tickets — and mix both. Add as many ticket types as you need (for example Early bird, Standard, and Student/concession), each with its own price in Australian dollars. Set a price of $0 for a free ticket. Prices are shown GST-inclusive and a tax invoice is generated for every paid order.
4. Managing registrations
Once you sign in, your dashboard shows every event with a live registration count. Open any event to see the full attendee list and download a CSV for your records, name badges, or your own systems.
5. On event day
Bring your attendee list (or CSV) for check-in. For online events, share the joining link with registered attendees ahead of time.
6. Getting paid
For paid events, ticket revenue — less the service fee — is settled to your connected account after the event runs, with clear reporting on every order. Refunds follow the policy you set and any rights attendees have under the Australian Consumer Law.
7. Tips for a great listing
- Use a specific, benefit-led title.
- State clearly who the event is for and what they'll walk away able to do.
- Set capacity realistically and open an early-bird tier to build momentum.
- Double-check the date, time and timezone.
- Reply quickly to attendee questions; responsiveness drives repeat bookings.
